This not only avoids possible additional costs for suitcases that have to be transported in the cargo hold because of their size and weight. Flying with hand luggage only saves valuable time. Before departure, you don't have to wait in line at the airline counter to check in your suitcase. After landing, you avoid waiting at the baggage carousel. What's more, carry-on luggage won't get lost en route.
Travelling with only carry-on luggage means more independence. It's luxury. But how big and how heavy can carry-on luggage be?

At check-in, checks on the size and weight of hand luggage are to be expected. Therefore, you should pay attention to the airlines' information on size and weight. At airports, racks are often available in the check-in hall or at the flight counter to check whether the baggage is still permitted for the cabin. Appropriate checks are to be expected. This also applies to the weight of the carry-on bag. If a piece of carry-on baggage exceeds the size or weight limits, the baggage must be checked in and transported in the hold. This also applies to anyone carrying more carry-on baggage than permitted. This may result in additional charges.
